Acceptance Testing

When installing new MRI scanners, strict adherence to regulatory guidelines and quality standards is crucial. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) recommend acceptance testing for all new facilities and scanners. This vital process ensures that procurement and supplier specifications are met, identifying any necessary remedial actions to maintain the highest standards of care.

Services

We have one or two day programmes for our acceptance testing depending on system specifications. We also offer more bepoke tests at acceptance including Quantative MRI, Diffusion Tractography and Multinuclear Spectroscopy. Our standards tests include:

System Tests

  • Mechanical system checks

  • Emergency system checks

  • Patient monitoring checks

  • Environmental monitoring

  • Verification of RF shielding tests

  • MR System Inventory

Scanner Tests

  • Field homogeneity

  • Gradient subsystems

  • Eddy current calibration

  • Distortion assessment

  • System noise tests

  • Image quality assessment

  • EPI stability tests

  • DWI distortion tests

  • Acoustic Noise checks

Facility Safety Audit

  • Magnetic Field Mapping

  • Scanner Safety Features

  • Warning Signage and Access Control

  • Aesthetic Equipment

  • Fire and Emergency Procedures

  • Quench Pipe Inspection

  • Unit Management

Benefits

Acceptance Tests provides a data-driven snapshot of you MRI system, identifying any issues with your system that may affect safety and efficacy.

With over a decade of experience we can ensure your new scanners and environments meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency from day one.
